The love of pig knows no borders. So I say, go ahead. Build a wall. It’ll only fail. Because face it; the abiding lust for BBQ will just force people to build a bigger ladder. And do we really want to make our neighbors mad? To ease any international tensions this volatile election year, Salt & Smoke headed north of the border for an All-American feast. Our culinary ladder stretched all the way from Carrboro to Mont Tremblant, a resort town just to the north of Montreal. Even though French is the spoken language, the Quebecois saw smoked pork as the language of love. And, well, we most definitely agree. C’est vrai. Vive le porc!
But don’t think that we’re didn’t bring our full-on Carolina show. There were sweet potatoes, creamy mac-n-cheese, collard greens, and cornbread. Oh, and bourbon. Why not share the love? Because regardless of the language, I’m guessing that we all understand the word, “yum.”
